We had our first week back after our summer break. The children all looked really smart and ready for an exciting new term at West Pennard....and what a busy term it looks set to be!!!! There are a number of trips already planned and later this week you will receive information about the curriculum your child will be following this term. There will also be a copy of the home-school agreement for you to sign and send back in with your child for our records.

During the summer holidays the new building arrived. The workmen have worked tirelessly throughout the summer preparing the foundations and helping with the installation. It looks like it will be ready in just under two weeks time. The children and the teachers can't wait to start using it!

We had some really exciting news on Tuesday. Jamie in Year 5 heard that he had won a competition that he had entered as part of our Health and Safety week last term. He had to design a t-shirt for Ambre Solaire to encourage children to 'Wrap, Splat, Hat' when in the sun. He has won a trip to Los Angeles, where he will get to go to LA zoo and have a tour of Fox Studios. He will also have his t-shirt made and it will be used to encourage children to cover up in the sun! Fantastic news, I'm sure you'll agree!

This week the merit badges went to Jacob, Amber, Grace, Harvey W, Benjamin, Millie, Tabitha, Louis, Harvey, Freddy and Dylan. Well done to all those children.
