The children of each class have focused on the subject of bullying this week in school. They have thought about what constitues bullying and what you can do if you experience it yourself or if you see it going on. The children are going to share some of the work they have produced this week in a special assembly on Monday. Year 4 produced posters under the theme of 'words can hurt' as well as a video about some of the things we have in place at West Pennard to deal with potential problems that can arise at playtimes.
On Friday we had a special visitor in school, John Crump. John Crump used to be the Deputy Head at West Pennard in the early 1980s and 30 years ago this year he entered the school into a national singing competition, which we won! He visited us in order to comemorate this amazing feat and to help us learn the song once again. Many thanks to Mr Crump for taking the time to visit us and sending us down memory lane! Also on Friday, we all dressed in blue in aid of comic relief. Now you may be thinking that we already dress in blue as it is our uniform colour and you'd be right, but the blue mufti was to be worn as it is national anti-bullying week and one of the themes of the week was to 'Beat Bullying in Blue'. Let's hope it will be green next year and we can see more Yeovil Town shirts!
