The School Council worked in their Learning to Lead teams on Wednesday to design a healthy tuck shop and smoothie. These were then kindly judged by Dave Tucker from Glastonbury Spring Water and Andi Cowan from Murfdog Ltd. The winning team was Team 3 - all winning a days pass each to Butlins and the winning smoothie carton design was one by Ellis - who won a box of celebrations. Watch this space for the launch of our new look healthy tuck shop!! Dragons Den eat your heart out!!

Also on Wednesday the football team played their first game of the season - against the league champions from last year, Elmhurst Junior School, Street. We beat Elmhurst last year, finishing joint top, only to lose out on the championship by goal difference. West Pennard played absolutely brilliantly and won the game 5-1 with George scoring a hat-trick! Well done to all 12 members of the squad that played on Wednesday. We look forward to Baltonsborough on Tuesday! All are welcome to watch (it is at Baltonsborough).

On Tuesday Year 6 visited the life skills centre in Bristol where they learnt important skills to stand them in good stead for the years to come. They learnt about who to call in an emergency and even practiced calling 999....but strangely got through to Mr Gouge and Mrs Leigh. I thought the AA was the 4th emergency service!
