We were visited by Mr Edward Waller from Unicef to officially present us with our Rights Respecting School Award following our successful assessment last summer. The children of Year 4, guided by Mrs Morley, lead us in a really engaging assembly where the children were encouraged to sing songs and even take part in a rights respecting version of 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire', expertly made by Noah, Ellis, Ben and Harry. Many thanks to Mr Waller for visiting us again and to Mrs Morley and, of course all of the children, for all their hard work!
On Tuesday the cross country runners took part in the latest meeting of their season, at Millfield. They have been practising on 'the flat' and really enjoyed the conditions that Millfield had to offer. There were some really strong performances, especially from Jemma who won the girls' race!!!! Well done Jemma!
On Tuesday the football team played their second game of the season, playing Baltonsborough away. They won 14-0 with notable performances from Oscar, George and Dominic with 1, 4 and 3 goals respectively. Louis, Rhys, Jamie, Finn and Sam were also goalscorers in an exciting game.We look forward to our next fixture....away at Meare on Monday!!!!!!
Next week is esafety week. We will be learning how we can use the internet safely and what to do should we experience something that we are not happy with. We have built a week of activities around 'Safer Internet Day', which is on Tuesday 7th February this year. We will have a special assembly, lead by children in Year 4, to which you are all invited. Following this, there will be a questions and answers focussed meeting with a county advisor and Mr Wheat. The assembly will start at 9:00am and the meeting will finish at 10:30.
