We welcomed back Mrs Emma King, who returned to year 3 following her maternity leave.  Mrs King will be working Mondays and Tuesdays with Mrs Emily Bridson working the remainder of the week.

Swimming starts this week for years 1 and 4 this Thursday, but please note that there will be no swimming on Thursday next week 29th April, due to works being carried out at Strode Pool.

Audrey Truan and Chaska Gaines, who run our successful after school club, are keen to run a holiday scheme for the half term break.  In order for the holiday club to take place there must be sufficient interest to make the venture viable.  Could parents please indicate on the form attached to the newsletter that went out this week whether they would be interested in child care during half term?  The club would run from 8.30am – 4.30pm at the school and costs should be in the region of £16.00 for a full or part day.  Please return the slip by Thursday 29th April as we will be making a decision by Friday 30th April.

We would like to invite the children to once again make a cake, biscuits or buns to be sold in aid of Christian Aid on Monday 10thMay after school. The school acknowledges the goodwill of parents for always taking the time to help raise funds for this worthy cause and we hope you feel that together we are successful in raising the children’s awareness of those who are in much greater need than ourselves.

On Friday we were visited by a number of children from the Blue School to teach us stories in French. We had a great time hearing some of the stories being told and also having the chance to catch up with a few past pupils. A big thank you to Mrs McKaig for all her hard work
