We have recently invested in a range of new technologies in order to enhance teaching and learning in every subject area taught at West Pennard.
In addition to a suite of 18 computers and smartboards in every classroom, we have a set of 38 Notebook PCs. Each class from Year 1 upwards has timetabled use of them at least once a week.
We have 4 sets of 32 handheld voting systems for use in each of the KS2 classes. The children can text in answers to questions or their thoughts about a particular subject or concept.
We have bought 8 high-end visualisers for use in each class as well as the hall. They allow for immediate feedback as to the progress made by the children in a lesson as well as being a very useful teaching tool
We have devised our own curriculum that makes use of links and opportunities for learning in the local area. Each topic has a historical slant, but also has curricular drivers underpinning it. Some examples can be seen below or on the class pages of this website.
