In addition to a suite of 18 computers and smartboards in every classroom, we have a set of 38 Android Tabs for use in lessons. Our PCs have recently been upgraded to high-end i5 processors - to help us encourage producers of IT, not just consumers.
We have 4 sets of 32 handheld voting systems for use in each of the KS2 classes. The children can text in answers to questions or their thoughts about a particular subject or concept.
We have bought 8 high-end visualisers for use in each class as well as the hall. They allow for immediate feedback as to the progress made by the children in a lesson as well as being a very useful teaching tool
We have devised our own curriculum which covers the statutory requirements, maximises our passion for History, and makes use of links and opportunities for learning in the local area. Each topic has four key curriculum drivers running through all our learning. They are:-
Enterprise - We believe it is important for children to develop their ideas and make a positive contribution.
Rights Respecting - We are a Rights Respecting School. We make the most of opportunities to explore the rights of the child through the curriculum.
World and Community - We aim to develop our children's knowledge and understanding of communities at a local, national and global level.
Spiritual and Moral - We are a Church School. We explore possibilities to develop children's spirituality and understanding of moral issues.
There is also an element of chronology, with the focus on study 'going back in time' as the children progress through the school. Some examples can be seen by clicking on the links below or by visiting the class pages of this website. You may need to save the documents first before opening them.
If you require further information on our curriculum and programmes of study then please do not hesitate to ask.
