On Wednesday we were visited by Doctor Hugh Sharp
and his wife. They told us how Mogese, our child sponsor in Etheopia, was
getting on and how the community in which he lives appreciates the clothing we
send out from the lost property box each year.
Also on Wednesday, we
were treated to the Key Stage 2 performance of 'Hoodwinked'. The children really
raised the roof and the comments in Mrs Burchell's comments book show how much
the parents appreciated the talents of some of the Year 6s. A great many thanks
to Mr Gouge and Miss Hammerton for all their hard work this half term. On
Thursday afternoon Year 6 put on a trumpet concert to show the progress they
have made so far this year. Mr Smith even played 'The Toilet'. I don't think it
will catch on as a musical instrument though!!!! We have such a talented bunch
here at West Pennard!!!!
On Friday we had a healthy food pic nic in
honour of us achieving the Healthy Schools Plus award. Several children went to
Glastonbury Town Hall on Thursday to pick up the award and to talk about some of
the work we've done in school to encourage healthy choices. A great many thanks
to Mrs Morley for all her hard work!!!! The week culminated in the Year 2
'rainbow' squash and biscuits
