On Wednesday we held a Maths Challenge afternoon for Year 6 pupils and children from 12 local primary schools came along to take part. The West Pennard team did exceptionally well, finishing on a tie for first place. Unfortunately we lost the tie breaker, but the children performed extremely well and really enjoyed the afternoon! We have some really talented mathematicians at West Pennard. We won a similar challenge afternoons earlier this term at the Blue School and also one at the Cathedral School in the Autumn Term. Many thanks to Mr Wheat for organising the event and for Mr Peter Hanratty for leading the afternoon.

Year 4 Squash and Biscuits is on Wednesday 31st March. In addition to the usual games and activities for the children, Class 4 have put together two hampers of 'goodies' to be raffled off, one to parents and one to the children on the day. Tickets cost 50p each, or you can get 3 for £1. If you would like to purchase tickets, send money in a sealed envelope with your child and write on the front FAO Class 4 - raffle.

On Tuesday the Cross Country Team took part in their final run of the season. There were some notable performances again, especially from Dylan. Many thanks to Mrs McKaig for organising the runners throughout the season. On a running theme, two of the Year 6 girls, following the Sport Relief Mile last week, have suggested starting a running club. The children will run a mile around the playground every Friday lunchtime next term whilst the field is in use.
