We are extremely delighted and proud to announce that the outcome of our SIAMS inspection on June 12th 2019, is a grading of ‘EXCELLENT’. This is the highest outcome possible under the more rigorous new inspection framework and replaces the ‘Outstanding’ grade of the previous one. This is a tremendous achievement for our whole school community and fully recognises all of the hard work of those involved.

 The impact of Collective Worship

Excellent

The final report highlights many of the great things that happen in our school to enable both pupils and adults to thrive. Here are a few of the many excellent findings:

  • This school is a family where pupils and staff work together caring about each other’s wellbeing and enabling all to flourish
  • Governors rigorously evaluate the effectiveness of the school as a church school
  • The school has developed an exciting, broad and balanced curriculum in-line with its Christian vision
  • This is a highly hospitable community where diversity is embraced
  • The SEND coordinator ensures that all pupils with special educational needs receive personalised education plans
  • Caring for elderly neighbours, pupils visit their local residential home to play games or read with them which demonstrates their sense of social responsibility
  • Daily collective worship is at the heart of the school – it is extremely well led.
  • Pupils have become highly confident advocates of change
  • Religious Education is inspirational, challenging and enjoyed

As well as being very gratifying to have such wonderful things written about the school, it was also incredibly rewarding to see the response of so many members of our school community in wanting to speak of all that we do. My sincere thanks to pupils, staff, families, Rev Chris and Governors for their contributions to the process and their hard work and support every day to make our school the very best it can be. I am extremely proud to have our achievements recognised in this way and look forward to continuing to build upon our fantastic work as a church school.
